Homebrew Beer Making Package
Interested in brewing your own beer? You’ve been brewing for a while and want to take it to the next step, whether from beer kits to all grain or to your own brew pub or brewery? This is the package for you!
Home brewer turned brewpub owner, Roger Davidson, started brewing beer in 2005 as a father and son project. Roger was born and raised in the Cooperstown area and is a fulltime science and technology teacher at a local Occupational Center. Roger received his undergrad Biology degree at the University of Rochester and his Masters in Science and Technology at SUNY Oneonta.
In 2005, his son was home from college and said “Dad, you should brew beer.” At the time Roger didn’t even like beer, but his son thought it would be a great father and son project. Roger purchased a pale ale kit and they brewed their first batch. That one kit opened his eyes to the world of beer making and that led to many more kits. Roger soon moved from kits to 5-gallon batches, then 15-gallon batches and more technology. At this time, Roger started serving beer to friends and at special events. The response to his beer was positive and the idea of starting his own brewery was hatched. After three years of preliminary work, Council Rock Brewery opened in May 2012.
Council Rock Brewery is a family run affair with wife Maureen, daughter Emily, daughter-in-law Marissa, and sons Will and Michael. This exciting opportunity is limited to six people only. You will have the opportunity to actually brew beer in a running brewery with the brewmaster. This is a hands-on package. Roger will walk you step-by-step through the all grain brewing process. Come prepared to experience the sights, sounds, smells, and taste of brewing!
